XP500 manual


1. Overview

There are applications in which the number of I/O exceeds the I/O provided by WE300 and WE500.

In these cases, the customer can use an XP500 that expands the number of I/O. There are several types that normally satisfy all the customers needs.

The number of XP500 that can be used inside a single network is quite high since they are connected through Modbus.

3. Installation

Connect the Modbus RS-485 of the XP500 to the WE500:

  • From WE500 connector A to XP500 connector D+
  • From WE500 connector B to XP500 connector D-
  • From WE500 connector GND to XP500 connector GND

Then connect the XP500 power source to V+ and V-.

4. Configuration

In the WE500, the section we500_sw_mb_expansions allows to install each one of the expansions. The installation creates the necessary variables for handling the expansions without any additional configuration.

Contact Nethix if the XP500 will be used for expanding the I/O of devices other than the WE300 and WE500.
